Banned Ads

Here is a link to some advertising that got pulled because of offensive content; which is a pity as there is some really good stuff. As the saying goes you can't please everybody.

Depeche Mode

If you have the chance I would highly suggest catching Depeche Mode's latest tour, Playing the Angel. I was told by an official source at the venue that this was the second loudest show ever played there. And even though your ears maybe ringing by the end it is definitly a spectacle worth seeing. They play a lot of their newest album but also the old favorites which the crowd is encouraged to sing along with. All in all a very positive high enery show. Dave Gahan still manages to have an excess of energy on stage and spins like an insane marry go round with the mic stand.

Good Branding

Here are some inventive
pieces of branding found
at the Standard hotel in
downtown Los Angeles.
The top left item was at
the bottom of the trash can.
Besides the basic services
the phone has buttons for
hell, heaven, fluffer and alibi.

Good Advertising

I am always seeking inspiration for creating good ads. A smart ad makes you think, or laugh or keys into some kind of truth. This Clio award winning ad is something I came across today that I wanted to share as its a prime example of a well done ad. It's what we creatives strive for, both visually interesting and thought provoking.
